In this 90-minute, nuts-and-bolts session, you'll gain the practical tools and confidence to use your writing as a powerful act of stewardship for the land and wild beings you love. This class is for anyone who wants their voice to make a difference. We'll demystify the different forms of public writing—from concise Letters to the Editor and powerful Op-Eds to substantive Public Comments and direct Letters to Officials—so you know exactly what to write and where to send it. We'll take a look behind the curtain to show you what happens to your words once you hit send. We’ll briefly explore the Administrative Procedure Act and other key legal frameworks to understand why certain types of comments are more effective than others. You will leave with a clear understanding of what makes a letter impactful and receive a curated list of resources, including strong letter examples, to guide your writing moving forward.
